What is XCEL?
A flexible path into competitive gymnastics
XCEL is a national competitive program created by USA Gymnastics as a flexible alternative to the traditional Development Program, formerly the Junior Olympic program. It gives gymnasts of different abilities and commitment levels a real competitive experience without the time demands of the traditional track. Coaches and athletes choose skills based on each gymnast’s strengths, so routines are personalized, and athletes still compete at sanctioned USA Gymnastics meets.
Flexible routines
Built around each athlete’s strengths.
Progress at your pace
Move up when ready, with no rigid timeline.
Real competition
Sanctioned USA Gymnastics meets, with chances to qualify for State and Regionals.
Less time, same passion
Fewer weekly hours than the Development Program.
Why All 4
A welcoming, character-driven program
Families feel connected here, and athletes build confidence that carries beyond the gym. Character is shaped through teamwork, perseverance, dedication, faith and hard work.
Safety and standards
A USA Gymnastics member club
Every coach is USAG certified, background screened and SafeSport trained.
Background screened
Criminal background screening every two years through the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI).
USAG Safety certified
Safety and Risk Management certification covering spotting, skill progressions, injury prevention and emergency preparedness, recertified every four years.
SafeSport trained
U.S. Center for SafeSport Core Course every year, plus emotional abuse prevention and concussion education.
